Cocoyam

Cocoyam, also known as taro, is a starchy root vegetable that is commonly cultivated in tropical regions of Uganda.

Cocoyam has a brown, hairy outer skin and a white or pinkish flesh that is rich in starch. It can be cooked in a variety of ways, including boiling, frying, or roasting, and is often used in soups, stews, and porridges.

Cocoyam has better nutritional qualities than other root and tuber crops such as cassava and yam, with higher protein, vitamin and mineral content.
