Type: Feurta
The avocado, which is native to the tropics and subtropics, is a rich fruit known for its lush, buttery texture and mild, faintly nutlike flavour. The fruit’s name comes from ahuacatl, the Nahuatl word for “testicle,” which is assumed to be a reference to the avocado’s oval shape.
The flesh of avocados is hard and deep green near the skin when harvested. The two most widely marketed avocado varieties are the pebbly textured, almost black Hass and the green Fuerte, which has a thin, smooth skin, we mainly deal with the Fuerta type of Avocado, which is grown at our farms and with our partnership farms around the country (Uganda, Africa).
